Katō, recognizing the threat, flees to Aizu, followed by his surviving warriors.
Determined to see their revenge through to the end, the kunoichi and their allies pursue Katō. During the battles, they encounter various traps and intrigues, losing two of their comrades. In the process, they learn of a mystical connection between their mentor, an old priest, and one of the villains. This connection means that the death of the villain will lead to the death of the priest, which leaves the heroes with a moral dilemma.
Despite their internal disagreements, the kunoichi continue their mission. Jubei is captured and ends up in "Snow Hell", a prison for kidnapped women. Ochei, one of the kunoichi and the object of Katō's desire, is also captured and tortured. However, through cunning and combat skills, Jubei manages to escape and reunite with the remaining allies for the final battle.
